Jacqueline du Pré

In the garden grows a rose named after one of Britain's most beloved musicians — Jacqueline du Pré. Luminous, layered, and impossibly delicate, the Jacqueline du Pré rose blooms each year in the artist's own garden, its white petals catching the light like a held note.

This oil painting captures that fleeting moment of bloom — white roses tumbling across the canvas in a swirl of green and gold, with flashes of teal beneath. Like the music it is named for, it is both joyful and tender.
